Shadow Wins
Narrator: “One day Lily the ranch kid went walking…”
Lily: “Wow!” — [Horse show flyer: “Horse show in a week. Sign up!”]
[Lily uses a pen to write her name on the horse show flyer.]
Lily: “Now all I need to do is get my pony!”
Narrator: “So she went out to the pasture to fetch shadow…” — Lily: “SHADOW!”
Shadow: “What?” — Lily: “I need you for a horse show!”
Lily: “Let’s practice now!!!” — Shadow: “OK!”
Narrator: “They practiced jumping…”
Narrator: “They practiced barrel racing…”
Narrator: “Lily practiced braiding Shadow’s mane…”
Narrator: “and finally, she practiced washing Shadow.”
Narrator: “Every day they practiced until sundown and got better.”
Narrator: “That night, they both dreamed of what a star they would be…”
[Lily and Shadow slept soundly.]
Narrator: “But the next morning Lily was very nervous!”
Shadow: “I will be there with you.”
Narrator: “In the truck, Lily thought about what she would do. She felt better.”
Narrator: “Finally, they were there!” — Shadow: “Do I look good?” — Lily: “Uh…”
Narrator: “They waited for their turn.”
Narrator: “Then it was her turn.” — Shadow: “You ready?” — Lily: “Yep.”
Narrator: “Her jumps were perfect.”
Narrator: “Her barrel racing was perfect.”
Narrator: “Her braids were perfect.”
Narrator: “And her washing was perfect!”
Narrator: “She waited for the horse show to end…”
Narrator: “Then announcments came on!”
Lily: “Did they just call me?!!”
Narrator: “They won first place!!!!!!!” — Lily: “Yay!” — Shadow: “Yes!” — THE END
Shadow Goes Camping
Narrator: “One day…”
Lily: “Hey!” — Shadow: “Oh!”
Lily: “We are going camping and you are coming!” — Shadow: “Me?” — Lily: “Yep.”
Narrator: “The next day…” — Lily: “MOM! Did you remember the cooler?” — Shadow: “What’s a cooler?”
Narrator: “When they got there…” — Lily’s big brother: “I thought you were strong.” — Lily: “Why does he have to be so mean?”
Lily: “Time to fish!”
Narrator: “That night…” — Lily: “What story should I tell?” — Shadow: “None.”
Lily: “The end.” — Shadow: “That was short.” — Lily: “I know.”
Lily: “Nighty night, Shadow.”
[Lily had a nightmare where she fell off Shadow and Shadow was struck by lightning.]
Lily: “AAAAAG!”
Shadow: “What is it?” — Lily: “I’m scared.”
Lily: “I got scared, scared, scared!”
Shadow: “Aw, it’s OK.”
Shadow: “Now go to bed.” — Lily: “OK.”
[Shadow was awake before sunrise.]
Narrator: “The next morning…” — Lily: “Good morning!” — Lily: “Oh, hello.”
Lily: “Let’s go for a ride!”
Lily: “Faster!”

Draw the head.
Next, draw the arms.
Third, draw her body.
Last, draw her legs. She needs to walk!
Shadow
First, draw her neck.
Draw her back.
Next, draw her front and back legs.
Last, draw her tail.
